NWT3110 PU Polyurethane Waterproof Coating for Roads and Bridges

This product is a reactive polymer waterproof coating consisting of Components A and B. Component A is a polyurethane prepolymer obtained through the polymerization of polyether and isocyanate, while Component B is a mixture of various additives, fillers, and other ingredients. Specifically developed for roads and bridges, this polyurethane waterproof coating offers excellent heat resistance, adhesion, and shear strength. Once applied, it forms a highly elastic coating film capable of withstanding long-term load movements on roads and bridges, preventing structural damage, rebar corrosion, and concrete carbonation caused by water seepage, thereby extending the service life of these structures.

Product Features

  • High elasticity: The coating film has an elongation of 4501 TP3T or higher, providing exceptional resistance to structural deformation;
  • Strong Adhesion: With exceptional penetrating power, it penetrates deeply into the concrete to form a highly adhesive, elastic coating on the substrate;
  • Good heat resistance: It retains its physical properties even at high temperatures of 160°C and can withstand the compaction of hot asphalt concrete during paving;
  • High Cold Resistance: The waterproofing layer can still withstand structural deformation caused by heavy loads and shear forces from horizontal loads even at temperatures below -50°C;
  • Physical Properties: Resistant to acids and alkalis, with strong corrosion resistance, ensuring and extending the service life of bridges;
  • Application: Cold application; can be sprayed, brushed, or troweled.

Cleaning the Base

  • Key Construction Points

Basic Requirements:

◎ The surface should be solid and level. When leveling with cement mortar, it must be properly cured and must not exhibit any signs of crumbling, sanding, or peeling.

◎ Concrete surfaces must be roughened, planed, or shot-blasted.

◎ The moisture content of the bridge deck shall not exceed 15%.

Coating Application: The coating may be applied by brushing, rolling, or spraying. It should be applied in layers, preferably in 3–4 coats. Each subsequent coat should be applied after the previous coat has cured and formed a film, and the application direction should be perpendicular to that of the previous coat.

  • Important Notes

◎ Stir the paint thoroughly before use.

◎ The recommended application temperature is 5–35°C.

◎ The waterproofing layer must be completely dry before asphalt can be laid.

◎ Do not walk on the coating or allow vehicles to drive over it until it has dried and the asphalt concrete has been laid.

 

 

◎ Waterproofing for bridge deck expansion joints, guardrail expansion joints, bridge deck drainage outlets, and other similar areas requires enhanced treatment.

  • Recommended Dosage

For a 1.0 mm-thick coating film, the total paint consumption is approximately 1.4–1.6 kg/m².

Applications

Suitable for anti-corrosion, anti-seepage, and waterproofing projects on bridges and highways.

Packaging, Storage, and Transportation

  • Packaging: Sealed in steel drums.
  • Storage: Store in a cool, well-ventilated warehouse. Do not store outdoors under any circumstances, and do not place any items on top of the product. The recommended storage temperature is 5–40°C. The shelf life is 6 months from the date of manufacture.
  • Transportation: Store upright; do not store upside down; protect from sunlight and rain; keep away from sources of fire; avoid impact and keep the packaging intact; handle with care during loading and unloading; do not throw.
