NWJ124 Polyester-Reinforced Wet-Lay Waterproofing Membrane

  • Details

This product is a wet-laid waterproofing membrane made from a polymer-modified bitumen base—composed of bitumen, SBS, water-repellent agents, surfactants, and other additives—with a polyester felt reinforcement and anti-adhesive material applied to one or both sides. The addition of proprietary surfactants, water-penetrating agents, and other additives to enhance the compound’s creep properties, allowing it to penetrate the pores and capillaries of the concrete. This creates a combination of physical adsorption and chemical cross-linking, ensuring a strong bond between the membrane and the substrate and forming a fully enclosed, watertight waterproofing layer.

 Product Structure

 Product Categories

Based on the adhesive surface, they are classified as single-sided adhesive (S) and double-sided adhesive (D).

 Grid Size

Thickness: 3.0 mm;

Width: 1000 mm;

Nominal area: 10 m².

 Number Marker

Mark in the following order: product name, standard number, type, bonding surface, full thickness, and area.

Example: A 10 m² single-sided adhesive Type I asphalt-based polyester felt waterproofing membrane with a thickness of 3.0 mm, applied using the wet-lay method, is labeled as:

Wet-laid Waterproofing Membrane GB/T 35467-2017-PY S 3.0-10

Product Features

  • Cold application—no open flame required; safe, energy-efficient, environmentally friendly, and economical;
  • Construction can begin as long as there is no standing water on the substrate, which offers particular advantages during the rainy season and effectively shortens the construction schedule;
  • High tensile strength, high elongation, and strong corrosion resistance;
  • The membrane is permanently and securely bonded to the building structure, with no water infiltration.
  • Cement-based bonding materials provide a protective coating that offers rigid waterproofing, delivering two lines of defense with a single layer of waterproofing.

Construction Methods

  • Wet-Lay Installation Method

A construction method involving the bonding of self-adhesive membranes with cement mortar solves the challenge of installing self-adhesive membranes on damp substrates. Apply a compatible cement mortar to the substrate, peel off the release liner from the upper surface of the membrane, lay it on top of the cement mortar, and properly treat the overlapping edges of the seams as required.

Key Construction Points:

◎The subgrade should be firm, clean, and sufficiently moist, with no standing water.

◎ When preparing the cement slurry, mix it thoroughly; when applying it, ensure it is compacted and smoothed out, with a thickness of typically 3–5 mm.

◎When laying the membrane, use a wooden trowel or rubber sheet to tap the surface of the membrane and work the mortar into it, ensuring that the membrane adheres tightly to the cement mortar.

◎ If the overlap area is contaminated, it must be cleaned thoroughly first; the overlap width of the membrane must be at least 80 mm.

 Applications

Suitable for waterproofing the base slabs and side walls of underground and open-cut stations.

Suitable for waterproofing non-exposed roof projects, and particularly suitable for waterproofing projects where open flames cannot be used.

  • Packaging: Sealed in special packaging film.
  • Storage and Transportation: Products of different types and specifications should be stored separately and must not be mixed. Protect from direct sunlight and rain, and ensure adequate ventilation. The storage temperature should not exceed 45°C. When stored flat, rolls should be stacked no higher than three layers; when stored upright, they should be kept in a single layer. During transportation, prevent tilting or lateral pressure; cover with a tarpaulin if necessary. Under normal storage and transportation conditions, the product has a shelf life of 1 year from the date of manufacture.
