This product is a waterproofing membrane with excellent root-resistant performance, manufactured using a polyester felt as the substrate, an SBS-modified asphalt adhesive containing imported chemical root inhibitors as the coating material, and a barrier layer applied to both sides. The material offers excellent root-resistant and waterproofing properties, effectively preventing plant roots from penetrating the waterproofing layer and ensuring the integrity of the overall waterproofing system. It also possesses the advantages of SBS membranes, including low-temperature resistance, resistance to aging, high tensile strength, high elongation, and strong adaptability to substrate deformation. It is currently one of the most commonly used root-resistant materials in China.

Example: An elastomer-modified bitumen root-resistant waterproofing membrane with an area of 10 m², a thickness of 4 mm, a polyethylene film on both the top and bottom surfaces, and a Type II polyester felt backing is labeled as: GB/T 35468-2017 Root-Resistant Waterproofing Membrane GB 18242 SBS II PY PE PE 410
Hot-melt application: A method in which a heating tool is used to melt the backing of the membrane, allowing it to bond to the substrate or to another membrane.

Overlap Treatment
It is primarily used for root barrier and waterproofing applications on the roof slabs of underground structures with green roofs and landscaping.
The physical and mechanical performance specifications comply with the requirements of GB 18242-2008, “Elastomer-Modified Asphalt Waterproofing Membranes.”
It also meets the technical requirements of JGJ 155-2013, “Technical Specifications for Green Roof Engineering.”
The performance requirements for root-penetration resistance comply with the standards set forth in GB/T 35468-2017, “Root-Resistant Waterproofing Membranes for Green Roofs.”
