This product is a waterproofing membrane with excellent root-resistant performance, consisting of a polyester felt substrate, a self-adhesive modified asphalt coating containing imported chemical root inhibitors, and a separating layer applied to both sides. The product offers excellent root-barrier properties and waterproofing performance, effectively preventing plant roots from penetrating the waterproofing layer and ensuring the integrity of the entire waterproofing system.

Code Marker

Product labeling consists of the standard number for the “Root-Resistant Waterproofing Membranes for Green Roofs” standard, the product name, and the standard markings for the membrane used. Product Features

  • It does not require an open flame, has no adverse effects on the standard waterproofing layer beneath it, and causes no environmental pollution, making it an eco-friendly product;
  • It offers dual functionality—waterproofing and preventing plant roots from penetrating—and can withstand penetration by plant roots while maintaining its waterproof properties over the long term;
  • Self-adhesive overlaps are used for joining, which is convenient and reliable;
  • With high tensile strength and a thick modified asphalt coating, it exhibits strong adaptability to shrinkage, deformation, and cracking of the subbase;
  • Excellent resistance to high and low temperatures, making it suitable for both hot and cold regions;
  • Corrosion-resistant, mold-resistant, and highly weather-resistant.

Construction Methods

Use in combination with other types of roll materials or coatings.

  • Key Construction Points:

◎ When installing the roll material, completely remove the release liner from the self-adhesive backing.

◎ All air beneath the roll material should be removed, and the material should be rolled firmly into place to ensure a secure bond.

◎The rolled material should be laid flat and straight, with accurate lap dimensions; it must not be twisted or wrinkled.

◎When installing two adjacent rolls of sheeting on the same level, the transverse lap joints should be staggered by 1/3 of the roll length.

◎ The overlap width is 80 mm. Overlapping of the roll material must be done carefully, and the overlaps must be firmly bonded and pressed down.

Applications

It is primarily used for root barrier and waterproofing on roof slabs of underground structures with green roofs and landscaping.

Packaging, Storage, and Transportation

  • Packaging: Sealed in special packaging film.
  • Storage and Transportation: Products of different types and specifications should be stored separately and must not be mixed. Avoid exposure to sunlight and rain, and ensure adequate ventilation. The storage temperature should not exceed 45°C. When stored flat, rolls should be stacked no higher than 5 layers; when stored upright, they should be stacked in a single layer only. During transportation, prevent tilting or lateral pressure; cover with a tarpaulin if necessary; handle with care during loading and unloading; do not throw the products. Under normal storage and transportation conditions, the shelf life is one year from the date of manufacture.

Performance Metrics

In addition to meeting the product’s own standards for heat resistance, the physical and mechanical performance specifications comply with all requirements for Type II as specified in GB 18242-2008, “Elastomer-Modified Bituminous Waterproofing Membranes.”

It also complies with the technical requirements of JGJ 155-2013, “Technical Specifications for Green Roof Engineering.”
