NWG212 Wet-Lay Polymer Waterproofing Membrane

  • Details

This product is a waterproofing material manufactured by using a polymer membrane as a reinforcing substrate, coating it with a reactive self-adhesive adhesive, and then covering it with a release liner. While maintaining the polymer membrane’s excellent resistance to aging and good self-adhesive sealing properties, the adhesive contains unique active agents and water-absorbing agents to the adhesive to enhance its creep properties. Through wet installation, it undergoes a “physical adsorption and chemical cross-linking” reaction with the concrete, ensuring a strong bond between the membrane and the substrate and forming a fully enclosed, watertight waterproofing layer.

Product Structure

Product Categories

Polymer membrane-based waterproofing membranes are classified into: high-strength type (Class H) and high-elongation type (Class E). The polymer membrane may be located on the surface or in the middle of the membrane. Based on the adhesive surface, they are classified as single-sided adhesive (S), double-sided adhesive (D).

Specifications and Dimensions

Class H and Class E thicknesses: 1.5 mm, 2.0 mm; width: 1,000 mm; nominal area: 15 m², 20 m². (Other specifications may be agreed upon by the supplier and the buyer.)

Code Marker

Class H – High-strength; Class E – High-elongation; S – Single-sided adhesion; D – Double-sided adhesion. Mark in the following order: name, standard number, type, bonding surface, total thickness, and area. Example: A 20 m², 1.5 mm, high-strength, single-sided, wet-laid polymeric waterproofing membrane is marked as: Wet-laid Waterproofing Membrane GB/T 35467-2017-H-S-1.5-20

Product Features

  • It forms an ultra-strong bond with the concrete substrate, creating a robust, sealed waterproof layer that prevents water penetration and effectively blocks liquid water and water vapor from entering the structure;
  • High tensile strength and high elongation, with strong adaptability to expansion, contraction, and cracking of the substrate;
  • The low requirements for the foundation make it easier to speed up construction;
  • Can be applied to damp substrates and has a wide range of applications;
  • Combining the high strength, high elongation, and weather resistance of polymers with the creep resistance and excellent sealing properties of reactive sealants, it provides multiple layers of waterproofing protection.
  • Wet-Lay Installation Method: A construction method that uses cement slurry or cement mortar to bond self-adhesive membrane rolls, solving the challenge of installing membrane rolls on damp substrates.
  • Construction Process Flowchart

  • Requirements for Grassroots Units

The substrate must be level and firm; remove any protrusions from the substrate. If the substrate is dry, thoroughly wet it until it is saturated; construction may begin once there is no standing water.

  • Preparing Cement Slurry

Mix thoroughly in the mixing bucket using an electric mixer, maintaining a cement-to-water ratio of 1:0.3–0.5 by weight. When preparing the mixture, first pour the water into the bucket, then add the cement. Let it soak for 10–15 minutes, then pour off the water that has risen to the surface before beginning to mix. The resulting cement slurry must be uniform, with no sediment or lumps.

  • Installation Instructions

Roll the sheet from both ends toward the center. When you reach the halfway point of the roll, use a utility knife to gently score the release liner from the center, taking care not to cut through the sheet. After positioning half of the roll, grasp the end of the peeled-back release film and pull it back evenly with consistent force, unrolling and applying the material as you go. As you apply it, be sure to roll it down firmly and remove any air pockets. The roll must be laid tightly and adhere securely to the substrate. Use a roller to press down firmly on the overlaps.

Applications

Suitable for waterproofing, moisture-proofing, and seepage-proofing projects on basement floor slabs, side walls, ceiling slabs, and non-exposed roofs of buildings. Particularly suitable for projects where open flames are prohibited.

Packaging, Storage, and Transportation

  • Packaging: Sealed in special packaging film.
  • Storage and Transportation: Products of different types and specifications should be stored separately and must not be mixed. Avoid exposure to sunlight and rain, and ensure adequate ventilation. The storage temperature should not exceed 45°C. When storing rolls flat, the stacking height should not exceed 3 layers; when stored upright, only a single layer is permitted. During transportation, prevent tilting or lateral pressure; cover with a tarpaulin if necessary. Under normal storage and transportation conditions, the shelf life is 1 year from the date of manufacture.
