NWT321 Cement-Based Penetrating Crystalline Waterproof Coating

This product is a powdered, rigid waterproofing material made from special cement, quartz sand, and various active substances. When mixed with water, the active chemical substances in the material penetrate into the concrete through a carrier, catalyzing the silicates in the concrete to form water-insoluble crystals that fill and seal capillary pores and microcracks. This process densifies the concrete, thereby enhancing its impermeability and providing waterproof protection.

Product Categories

Based on their method of application, cement-based penetrating crystalline waterproofing materials are classified into cement-based penetrating crystalline waterproofing coatings (C) and cement-based penetrating crystalline waterproofing additives (A).

Code Marker

Product Features

  • It possesses exceptional penetrating and crystallization-catalyzing properties, imparting excellent water resistance to concrete substrates and enabling them to withstand high water pressure equivalent to a head of over 120 meters for an extended period;
  • With excellent self-healing properties, the product contains unique active ingredients that are activated upon contact with water, prompting the cement to form new crystals that can seal cracks less than 0.4 mm wide, thereby preventing water from entering;
  • It possesses unique corrosion-resistant, weather-resistant, and reinforcing-bar-protective properties;
  • Environmentally friendly, non-toxic, and highly compatible with other materials;
  • The construction method is simple and labor-saving.

Work Methods

  • Substrate Preparation: The substrate must be level, sound, clean, and free of standing water. Remove all dust, oil stains, dirt, and other loose materials. If the temperature is high or the substrate is dry, moisten the substrate with clean water before application until there is no standing water.
  • Application Methods: The product can be applied by brushing or by dry-sprinkling.

Application by Brushing:

Directions: First, pour the water into a container, then add the powder to the water, and mix quickly with a mixer for about 10 minutes.

Application: Use a stiff-bristled brush to apply the coating evenly to the concrete substrate. Typically, apply 2 to 3 coats. After each coat, cure the surface by spraying water or covering it with a damp cloth. Wait until the previous coat has developed sufficient strength before applying the next one. If the previous coat has dried and turned white, spray water to moisten it before applying the next coat. When the coating thickness is 0.8 mm, the material consumption is approximately 1.0–1.2 kg/m².

Dry-Spray Application:

Evenly spread 1.5 kg/m² of powder over the surface of the concrete before it has fully set. Immediately use a wooden trowel or a power trowel to press the powder into the concrete and finish the surface until the desired result is achieved.

  • Curing Method: Use moisture-retaining curing methods such as spraying water or covering with a damp cloth; the curing period should be at least 72 hours.

 

 

Applications

Widely used for waterproofing both the water-facing and non-water-facing sides of cement mortar, as well as new and existing concrete buildings and structures. Examples include basements, subway systems, bathrooms, kitchens, reservoirs, swimming pools, water storage structures, culverts, and concrete roadways.

Packaging, Storage, and Transportation

  • Packaging: The product can be packaged in bags or drums; when packaged in bags, moisture-proof bags must be used.
  • Storage: Store in a dry place. Do not store outdoors under any circumstances. Protect from direct sunlight and rain, and prevent moisture absorption. The product has a shelf life of one year from the date of manufacture.
  • Transportation: Store upright; protect from direct sunlight and rain; prevent impacts and keep the packaging intact; handle with care during loading and unloading; do not throw.
