QQC-080 Thin Adhesive Waterproofing Membrane for Cool Roofs

This product uses a composite mat made of fiberglass felt and fiberglass mesh as its substrate, with modified asphalt—made from high-quality asphalt, synthetic rubber, engineering resins, compatibilizers, modifiers, and other ingredients, with the top surface coated with quartz sand and aluminum foil. It is a thin, self-adhesive waterproofing membrane designed for exposed applications.

 Product Categories

  • Products are classified into two types based on their top surface coating material: quartz sand (S) and aluminum foil (AL).
  • Products are classified into Type I and Type II based on their physical properties.

  Grid Size

  • Nominal thickness: 1.5 mm, 2.0 mm;
  • Nominal width: 1000 mm;
  • Nominal area: 15 m², 20 m²;
  • Other specifications may be determined through mutual agreement between the supplier and the buyer.

Code Marking

Products shall be marked in the following order: name, type, top surface material, thickness, area, and the number assigned under this standard.

Example: A Type I cold-applied thin adhesive waterproofing membrane with a mineral fine-sand finish, 15 m² in area and 2.0 mm thick, is labeled as:

  • Excellent high-temperature resistance, making it particularly suitable for metal roofing such as color-coated steel;
  • It has extremely strong adhesion to metal materials such as color-coated steel, preventing water penetration and enhancing the reliability of waterproofing projects;
  • It contains an aging-resistant rubber modifier, providing excellent resistance to aging and a service life more than twice that of traditional products;
  • The dry-lay method requires no open flame, is easy to install, shortens the construction schedule, and is safe and environmentally friendly.

Construction Methods

  • Substrate Preparation: Remove dust and rust from the substrate surface, ensuring it is clean, dry, and free of sharp objects such as protruding screws.
  • Dry-Lay Installation: Choose between transverse or longitudinal installation based on the roof structure. Compact the membrane as you lay it, both on flat and uneven surfaces. The membrane features a pre-cut overlap edge along its length, while transverse overlaps are secured using specialized
  • Edge Finishing: Secure the edges of the membrane with metal trim, then seal them with the appropriate sealant.
  • Construction Inspection: Inspect the installed membrane for tears, air bubbles, or curled edges. If any defects are found, repair them with a specialized sealant and press them firmly into place.

 Applications

  • Suitable for waterproofing projects on metal roofs in residential and industrial buildings, among others.

Packaging and Storage 

  • Packaging: Sealed in special packaging film.
  • Storage and Transportation: Products of different types and specifications should be stacked separately and must not be mixed. Avoid exposure to sunlight and rain; ensure proper ventilation; and keep away from sources of fire. The storage temperature should not exceed 45°C. When storing rolls flat, stack no more than three layers high; when storing them upright, stack them in a single layer. During transportation, prevent tilting or lateral pressure; cover with a tarpaulin if necessary. Under normal transportation and storage conditions, the product has a shelf life of 1 year from the date of manufacture.
