NWJ112 Plastomer (APP) Modified Asphalt Waterproofing Membrane

  • Details

This product uses plasticized asphalt modified with amorphous polypropylene (APP) or polyolefin polymers (APA0, APO) as the impregnating material, with high-quality polyester felt, glass fiber felt, and glass fiber-reinforced polyester felt as the reinforcing layers, and fine sand, mineral granules, and polyethylene film as the surface coatings. It is a high-grade, rollable sheet waterproofing material meticulously manufactured using advanced processes.

Product Structure

1. Polyethylene film, fine sand, mineral aggregate

2. Modified Asphalt Hot-Melt Adhesive

3. Polyester felt, fiberglass felt, fiberglass-reinforced polyester felt

4. Modified Asphalt Hot-Melt Adhesive

5. Polyethylene film, fine sand

Product Categories

Based on the backing material, they are classified as polyester felt (PY), glass fiber felt (G), and glass fiber-reinforced polyester felt (PYG).

Based on the top surface separation material, they are classified as polyethylene film (PE), fine sand (S), and mineral granules (M). Based on the bottom surface separation material, they are classified as polyethylene film (PE) and fine sand (S). Based on material properties, they are classified as Type I and Type II.

Note: Fine sand refers to mineral particles with a grain size of no more than 0.6 mm.

Specifications and Dimensions

The nominal width of the coil is 1,000 mm.

Polyester felt rolls are available in nominal thicknesses of 3 mm, 4 mm, and 5 mm.

Fiberglass felt rolls are available in nominal thicknesses of 3 mm and 4 mm.

The glass-fiber-reinforced polyester felt roll has a nominal thickness of 5 mm.

Each roll of sheeting has a nominal area of 7.5 m², 10 m², or 15 m².

Code Marker

Products shall be marked in the following order: name, model number, tire base, upper surface material, lower surface material, thickness, area, and the number of this standard.

Example: A Type I polymer-modified bitumen waterproofing membrane with an area of 10 m², a thickness of 3.0 mm, a mineral granule top surface, and a polyethylene film bottom surface is labeled as:

APP I PY M PE 310 GB 18243-2008

Applications

Suitable for waterproofing and seepage prevention projects on roofs and in basements of industrial and residential buildings;

Suitable for waterproofing projects in structures such as swimming pools and fire water tanks;

Suitable for waterproofing and seepage prevention projects in municipal engineering, such as subways, tunnels, concrete-paved roadways, bridge decks, wastewater treatment plants, and landfills;

Suitable for waterproofing projects in water conservancy facilities such as canals and reservoirs.

Applications of Different Base Materials and Surface Sheeting:

Polyester-reinforced membrane rolls, suitable for roofs and underground structures with waterproofing ratings of Class I and II;

Fiberglass felt rolls are suitable for use as the base layer in multi-layer waterproofing systems;

Glass-fiber-reinforced polyester felt rolls can be used for mechanically fastened single-ply waterproofing, but must pass wind load testing;

For exposed applications, use waterproofing membranes with an opaque mineral granule top layer;

For waterproofing underground structures, it is recommended to use waterproofing membranes with a fine sand surface.

Packaging, Storage, and Transportation

  • Packaging: Sealed in special packaging film.
  • Storage: Products of different types and specifications should be stored separately and must not be mixed. Protect from direct sunlight and rain, and ensure adequate ventilation. The storage temperature should not exceed 50°C. When stored upright, products should be stacked in a single layer; during transportation, they may be stacked upright in no more than two layers. Under normal storage and transportation conditions, the shelf life is one year from the date of manufacture.
  • Shipping: Prevent tilting or lateral pressure during transport; cover with a tarp if necessary.
